The Voyager Windvane is a unique combination of the latest technologies incorporating a pleasing design. It is strong but light in weight.

With variable hinged brackets and arms, the Voyager Windvane can easily be installed on a variety of sailboats with different transom configurations.  Only an area of 12"x6" of your transom is required for a base to mount our windvane! Only four bolts are required.

Indestructible ballbearings and Teflon bushings make this latest design of self-steering very responsive in any wind.

An adjustable counterweight on the windvane eliminates the need to change to larger or smaller air vanes for different wind conditions.

The pendulum rudder/oar can be pulled out of the water position. Once upright it locks mechanically in place.

If the yacht is steered by wheel, our wheeldrum is activated by a Kevlar belt.  The drum is infinitely adjustable and is locked by a brake disc design.

Add a new dimension to your voyage under sail with this latest Self-Steering Gear from Voyager Windvanes.

Servo-Pendulum Windvanes
use the boat's existing rudder in the most efficient way to steer a boat.  The rudder was design to steer it in the first place.  A servo pendulum gear uses the leverage created from the blade, through the shaft, and to the end of the oar, to keep the yacht on course. An oar is suspended, like a pendulum, from the stern of the boat. The upper vane, or airvane, is the sensor that directs the oar. If the boat is pushed off course the airvane will detect the change and automatically rotate the oar. The pressure of water hitting the blade/oar face causes the oar to swing to the side with greater force using the leverage created. The pendulum works together with the wheel or tiller through a series of lines. The resulting movement of the rudder brings the boat back on course
